Henri Dropsy
French (1885 – 1969)
Henri Dropsy was the son of medallist Emile Dropsy; was first pupil to his father then later studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts under Thomas, Vernon and Patey. He exhibited at the Salon from 1907; was created Chevalier of the Legion of Honor and was named Director of the Paris Mint. Dropsy became professor of medal engraving at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1942. Source: Cleveland Museum
