Lovemore Kambudzi was born and grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe. He completed his secondary education in 1995 at St. Peters Secondary School where he excelled in art, enabling him to study an art foundation course at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Visual Arts Studios between 1996 and 1998.
