Had been an illustrator, became an artist after a visit to Paris in 1914; was friends with <a href=" https://findartvalue.com/artist/erich-heckel">Erich Heckel</a>, <a href=" https://findartvalue.com/artist/karl-schmidt-rottluff">Karl Schmidt-Rottluff</a> and <a href=" https://findartvalue.com/artist/otto-mueller">Otto Mueller</a>; taught and exhibited in Berlin.
