Det begynte med Innehaver Magnor Tjelta sin oppvekst med landbruksauksjoner og auksjoner i tollboden i Stavanger, han reiste rundt med sin far Tollef Tjelta og fikk med tiden en smak for gamle ærverdige møbler, lysekroner, kobbereffekter og mange andre forskjellige ting. Magnor startet det som da var en hobby i sitt hjem på Ræge, her hadde han antikvitetene utstilt i verkstedet og på låven.
Antik & Auksjon AS ble startet den 13. mai 1977 av Magnor Tjelta og Kate Elin Slethei. Den dagen var forretningslokalene lokalisert i Strandgaten i Sandnes i det som før var en brusfabrikk. Her holdt ekteparet koken frem til 1987, da ble Antik & Auksjon AS stiftet i Brønnøysund registeret og lokalitetene endret til Langgaten 24 hvor vi fortsatt er i dag mer en 40år senere.
I dag er vi 9 ansatte fordelt på auksjonshuset Storgaten 61, forretningslokalene i Langgata 24 og Langgata 22. Noen på heltid, noen på deltid og 1 vikar.
